Interactive Engineer The New Addition to the Metaphor Studio Community
CINCINNATI, Ohio - April 1, 2004 - Davis, Interactive Designer, Software Developer, and E-commerce Professional has been hired as Interactive Engineer for Metaphor Studio, (www.metaphorstudio.com) an integrated marketing communications agency in historic Over-the-Rhine, providing branding, interactive and advertising strategy through a proprietary process of Community Experience Development™.
In the ten years that Davis has been working with technology professionally, his interests have led him into programming, electronic commerce, CD-ROM production, client relations, project shepherding and interactive marketing, as well as other strategic applications of technology. He specializes in developing custom website applications with a focus on content management, community-building and increased sales, and which blend seamlessly with traditional advertising and marketing.
Prior to his work with Metaphor Studio, Davis served as Associate Creative Director for Slipstream.com, the interactive arm of Mann Bukvic Olsen Partners, where he created and managed interactive marketing efforts for Downtown Cincinnati Incorporated, Tall Stacks 2003, Cork 'n Bottle, North American Properties Cincinnati, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille, Communications in the Public Interest Inc., Weitzer Communities and Danis Building Construction, among others. Davis holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music's Electronic Media program.
An early open-source adopter, Davis has deep experience in the deployment and management of Linux servers, and has also contributed to several open source projects including the Interchange Shopping Cart, the JavaScript Index, and most recently the Open Voting Consortium, which will demonstrate its secure, auditable electronic voting software system later today in California.
Davis is active in the local technology community, having founded the Cincinnati Programmers Guild and currently serving as the Guild's President. He has volunteered his efforts for CincyTechUSA, The Circuit, The Womens' Circuit, the Black Data Processors Association, AppleSiders of Cincinnati and the Great Oaks school system. He is also a mentor through the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative's "The Power of 1" program, and plays bass guitar in local rock band Foxy McCoy.
Troy lives in Norwood with his wife Susan, the couple are expecting their first child this month.
