Metaphor Studio Launches New Web site for The Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center CINCINNATI, Ohio - October 29, 2003 - The Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center, (www.thecarnegie.com) a Covington, KY located multidisciplinary arts venue for all ages selected Metaphor Studio, (www.metaphorstudio.com) an advertising and technology agency in historic Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati to provide Web site design and development. Metaphor Studio developed the site working closely with the Web team at the Carnegie. The site features include a Web-based content management system that enables the Carnegie staff to update the Web copy, upload and change images, add new navigation and make files available for download. The next phase will provide the ability to make online donations and view images from the latest gallery exhibition openings. Their 100th anniversary year will be celebrated throughout 2004 with special events including the annual Art Auction Gala, Anniversary Dance and special exhibitions. The Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center is a multidisciplinary arts venue for all ages and provides events, educational programs, and art exhibitions to the community. With five art galleries, a magnificent turn-of-the-century theater, and a brand new education center, the Carnegie is one of the most prominent arts institutions in Northern Kentucky. The Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center, originally built as a Carnegie Library, is an outstanding example of American Renaissance Architecture. In 1971 it was placed on the Register of Historic Places. In 1972, the facility was converted to an arts center when the library moved to new facilities. It is the largest and only multi-disciplinary arts organization in a three-county area. The Carnegie is owned by the City of Covington and is leased for a small annual fee to the Carnegie Board which is responsible for maintenance, restoration, accessibility and programming.
