Fanchon Shur's Growth in Motion CINCINNATI, Ohio - November 10, 2003 - Growth in Motion, (www.growthinmotion.org) an artistic, educational and healing center located in Cincinnati and created by Fanchon Shur has launched a new Web site designed by Metaphor Studio, (www.metaphorstudio.com) an advertising and technology agency in historic Over-the-Rhine, providing branding, interactive and advertising strategy. Metaphor Studio developed the site working closely with Growth in Motion founder Fanchon Shur. Fanchon Shur, a pre-eminent movement artist, movement scientist, movement therapist and poet, is the director of Growth in Motion, Inc. since 1978 and the Fanchon Shur Ceremonial Dance Theater since 1974, as well as a private movement therapist since 1983. As Choreographer, Fanchon Shur has received national acclaim for her many group ceremonial choreographies including Tallit: Prayer Shawl, and Purses, Pockets and Family Secrets. She pioneered "curriculum in motion" programs in elementary and secondary schools for 40 years. In 1990, she was inducted into the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame for her ground breaking work in creating healthy communities. Fanchon is a Certified Laban Movement Analyst, Registered Movement Therapist/Somatic Educator and Developmental Movement Specialist. Growth in Motion classes are open to all types of movers and non-movers. All classes meet in Fanchon's beautiful home-studio in North Avondale, and are taught in a series (except Wednesday Morning Wake Up). Although not recommended, they can be taken individually. Tuesday evening courses can be utilized as an ongoing immersion in the Growth in Motion approach. There are short breaks between each 6 week session, but all the courses flow seamlessly into a unified process of growth and healing. All of our classes have amazing effects on alignment, fluidity, range of motion and support fitness.
